Pogonia ophioglossoides - Rose Pogonia Orchid - The Rose Pogonia produces a single (sometimes double), rose colored flower, born at the top of a solitary stem. The plant is usually about 8 inches tall, but can reach 12 inches if conditions are optimal. In nature, Rose Pogonia is found in acidic situations such as open sphagnum bogs and wet meadows. Rose Pogonia is a true bog plant and makes a wonderful bog garden addition. These plants do not usually bloom the first year after planting.
