Cypripedium reginae - Showy Lady’s Slipper - The Showy Lady’s Slipper to me is the most beautiful of the Lady’s Slipper species found in nature. The flowers can measure over 3 inches across. The sepals and petals are pure white and the lip varies from pinkish purple to almost maroon. The plant will reach over 2 ft high. Double flowers per stalk are commonly found and established plants will have multiple flowering stalks. These plants are found in nature in open well drained but moist areas, along roadsides and in open fields, and in cultivation do well in open gardens with well-drained soil. Some protection from direct sun is beneficial in the warmer climates. Prices 'click here' |
