Cypripedium parviflorum - Small Yellow Lady’s Slipper - The Small Yellow Lady’s Slipper is almost identical to the Large Yellow Lady’s Slipper except for plant height and flower size. The plants are usually less than 15 inches high. The flower has dark brown to maroon petals with a rich, waxy looking yellow lip accented by internal maroon spots. In nature these plants are found in rich, moist and fairly open deciduous or mixed forests. In domestic culture, the Yellow Lady’s Slipper is considered to be the easiest of all of the Lady’s Slipper species to grow. The biggest concern with all Lady’s Slipper plants is soil drainage.
